Runoff from road and rain water pools in the middle. We have added drainage. We like to have a rose garden and small patio

We had a small lake every time it rained- our driveway floated! We finally put in a dry well, a large hole 3’ x 6’ x4’ deep was dug, layer of gravel and sand, large plastic pipe w holes, then more gravel and sand, topped with sod with a grate right beside the driveway. Worked perfect. Supplies at local hardware store. Hope this helps. We tried doing a wet flower bed that was low with water loving shrubs- not enough for our problem.

You might google "rain garden". These are areas that help absorb the excess water and feature plants that like the moisture.

    Note: Roses HATE wet feet!
Also, I'd suggest a linear hill along the road to deflect as much water as possible FIRST. A base of clay and covering of topsoil should make it last until the roots take hold. Thereafter, only a bit of maintenance would be needed.
Now... I'd fall in line with the Rain Garden suggestion... raise a hill to one side (preferably a sunny side) for roses... I'd also get some help or do research for properly building that, since soils will affect their success.
