Build raised vegetable and fruit free gardens. Or contact your local agricultural extension service to find out what will grow. In my experience, not much grows in clay except prairie grasses.Helpful Reply- See 1 previous

Check with others and see what they have planted that is doing good. Or call your extension service and find out what they recommend.Helpful Reply -

We have clay soil here too. Found that most fir type of trees don't do well. Seems like plants with a smaller root structure do better. Could just be that the part of the hole where soil is amended allows the roots to do good but when they reach the end of the good soil they seem to have problems. Photinthia (spelling) does good here as well as rose bushes. Butter Fly bushes also do good but are considered invasive so plant with caution. Plum trees also seem to do good here.Helpful Reply -
