You could try using simple concrete bricks from Home Depot. I used them around my garden bed, and they are quite inexpensive.

Well this is what we did but we live in the country so it may not be the best option for y'all. I also like stone rocks too things that looks natural instead of store bought are great ideas.

I live in the Midwest so because of the frost line most borders raise up and never really work. Here contractors have started concrete borders. They come in with a machine and pour the border around 12 inches wide then stamp out whatever pattern you want, color it and seal it. Looks beautiful, never comes up and keeps mulch and stone in. Cost was very reasonable
You can add those scalloped brick edging stones.
If you don't want this, make a trench between the grass and the stones making sure there is some space between the two and keep it tended. Check the area occasionally to make sure the stones are not escaping into the yard.
