What to do with garden bed

Question

I have a garden bed with nothing In it. Right beside is the down pipe so when It rains it can get wet dePending on the amount of rain. I want to do a little memorial garden for my parents. What type of plants would you suggest I am also putting a trellis against the fence.

For the trellis do clematis it climbs and comes back each year .easy to grow .

What were your parents favorites? Start with them, putting the tallest plants to the back of the box and maybe arch them in a half circle around a plaque with something on it your parents used to say when you were growing up :) or a plaque with their names.

If it is too much water you could probably get an extension for the downspout.

There is something called a Rain Garden for this situation using plants that will thrive in such locations. Google that.

Clematis and ferns, the ferns would by ok with lots of water, you might consider a mini rain barrel to catch and distribute the rain water.
