What is a nice but inexpensive way to keep rocks out of grassy area I yards?

Theres lots of inexpensive edging out there, many styles and colors. Or line edges with bigger rocks. -

The most inexpensive way to keep grass and rocks apart that I've found is cedar fencing. It will turn gray as it weathers and you will need to stake it down well so it doesn't bow, but it will work for straight areas less than 20 feet long. Longer than that - or with a curve involved, go with a steel edging. It's long lasting and comes in green or brown 8-foot sections.
