Can you use any natural ingredients to get rid of stink bugs and keep them from invading your house??

    Hi, Anna,

I can't address natural ingredients, but washing your exterior windowsurface (and washable sills) with a very sudsy solution of warm water and Blue Dawn has significantly reduced the problem of stink bugs entering. You may need to examine your caulking and weatherstripping around your doors and windows, replacing as needed.

We've had issues in the past and I've gotten them reduced. Here are a few things we did:

Make sure we have all the windows and around doors sealed. Put out lavender, they don't like the smell of it so I put bunches in every room in the house. Lay out a white, damp towel outside near the entrance. They are drawn to it and will land on it. Each morning, squash them in the towel. Dampen and leave out nightly. The population will decrease rapidly.

Oh, I forgot one thing...no matter what you do NEVER vacuum them up. It will ruin your vacuum cleaner.

As for the smell on the towel outside, that is part of the remedy. They can't stand the smell either and it will keep them away. That's why you do it outside. And wear gloves.
