Earwigs love moist, dark places. Mostly, the do nibble tender shoots of plants and can kill of some varieties. you can try attracting natural predators (like toads and birds) or you can use a cockroach trap if the normal oil in a container trap doesn't really work.
If Earwigs are inside in your planters, you can buy these plastic sticks with small glue strips that are small onto the stick at Amazon. But the real issue lies with wetness. They love damp , dark places. I sprayed all around my new house I bought several times with "Home Defense" (good weather). Home Defense can be used safely inside around perimeter . Try to keep inside damp free. I have had issues in Vermont home also and did the same thing. They are treatable. :)
yes We have them in New Brunswick. Get the planter off the ground. Hang up in a tree. I get the Ood one in the house. They are creepy! Pour Abit of table salt in the soil.
