Our bird feeders hang from Shepard hooks so we put large Slinkys all the way up the hook. At first it didn't deter the squirrels but we haven't had any problems lately. It's entertaining too.Helpful Reply -

I've been using shepherd's hook for a few years. I only use petroleum jelly on the stem of the hook. About 4 or 5 inches above the ground, and end it at the birdfeeders. You'll still get a clean up crew under the feeders, at least they won't raid the feeders. Also remember, they are acrobats. Hope it helps.Helpful Reply -
