Horse tail weed is very prevalent in the UK.
There is only one way to rid your garden of it.
Because the most prevalent killer of Horses Tail is no longer available in the UK it is most likely that it will no longer be available in the USA. Therefore, you must go to the nearest big garden centre and ask one of the resident gardeners for a reliable product to destroy Horse Tail weed. It will most likely be a liquid killer.
You cannot just spray it on and leave it and you may have to follow the instructions on the container as to the correct dilutions for use.
Horse Tail weed is covered in a natural plastic coating and the poison will just run off it. You have to rub the grass type strands together between your gloved fingers, this will bruise the plastic coat and open it up to the spray liquid. You will have to repeat the treatment every week until it dies back to and kills the root.
Good luck with it because it gets everywhere and you must keep on top of it to kill it.
