How to get rid of Japanese beetles?

    Go to Home Depot. They have a systemic spray that you spray on the plant...but mainly directed at the roots. It will keep the Japanese beetles away..

    Pyrethrin spray, applied directly to beetles. Do not use if bees/beneficials are on plants, as it will kill them. Spray in early morning or early evening, out of direct sun.

    I did some research on this topic. I learned that, unfortunately, the best way to get rid of these beetles is to hand pick them off. Put them in a bucket with a solution of 1 tablespoon of liquid dish washing soap and water which will cause them to drown. You could also put down a drop cloth and, in the AM when they are most active, shake them off into thee bucket of soap and water. Best of luck to you.

    Home Depot also makes a trap that consists of a bag and scent that works very well and you don’t have to handle anything but the bag when you dump it in the trash
