Hi! There are actually many ways. I'm not interested in the chemical/toxic ones, so right of the bat I am thinking of four easy ones to share with you. But there is a lot more. 1-ASHES. They can't crawl on ashes. 2-COFFEE GRINDS. For the same reason. You sprinkle ashes or coffee grinds like a belt around the garden or the veggpies that snails are targeting and the simply can't get on it. I'm told that crushed eggshells do the same, I would believe it's true but I never tried. 3-CAYENNE. You can buy it in big containers for a cheap price and circle the veggies with it. It also keep rodents away.

4-COPPER. Some gardeners used to set up 2X4s all around the garden and glue pennies on it because snails and slugs can't stand to crawl on copper. Nowadays, you can easily find copper tape in gardeners catalogues or in stores. One nail here and there, and it's done. I just go with the first two since they are free and a useful way to use organics which are good for the land when absorbed. You just have to be vigilant and sprinkle some more every few days or after heavy rain.
