You can spray them with a mixture of garlic powder, Cayenne pepper powder and water with a couple drops of dish shop. I use about a tsp. of each garlic and Cayanne, shake will and spray. Get a quality spray bottle as the powders can clog up the spray nozzle. But this mix works wonders. I use it in my garden to keep bunnies and bugs from eating my produce.

I use crushed egg shells. Sprinkle them on and around your plants - slugs avoid them as they hurt :) Or fill a small cup half full with beer and "plant" it beside your plants. Slugs love beer and will go for a sip and not be able to get out. A spray water bottle with a hearty dash of tobasco sauce works too. Spray the leaves of your hostas and no slug will come near them :)
Put gum balls, the tree kind, under the plant. The slugs don’t like walking? Oozing? Over them.
Crushed egg shells work good too
Hi Maxine. I put Epsom salt down around my hostas. You can also put a bowl of beer out at night. In the morning you should see slugs in it. Dump it and refill with beer. Do this for about a week and they should all be gone.
Thanks for the help...I'll try solution til i find one that works
