How to run off snakes and spiders from a wood pile ?

Raise the wood off the ground with cinderblocks. Use sharp gravel in a large path around the wood and break up bottles and put under pile. Ridding the pile of spiders can be harder. Use a leaf blower to at least make them move, and of course always wear gloves around the pile. I'd hesitate to spray anything around simply because you're bringing it into your home and burning it.
