There is chemicals you can buy that will keep dogs and cats as well as others animals to stay away from areas where you don’t want them at! Some people use red pepper and vinegar or other items dogs and cats don’t like to keep them away too! You may try a search on YouTube for home made remedies to keep dogs out of gardens or flower beds too. If you haven’t tried that yet?
You can walk your dog regularly, 10 or 15 minutes after feeding him, till he poops. Just take a collection bag with you so as not to leave the feces in a neighbors planning strip. It‘s a win win; your dog will love it, you’ll have quality time with him and no poo in the sod. You can hire a walker if you can’t do it yourself.
Train him to go only in another area. It will take Work on your part but having an animal is like having children.
Be careful with vinegar as it could burn the grass. I use it to kill weeds.
Thanks Inetia. I hadn't had a problem until the sod. I had trained him to go near the fence line near the woods. We live out n the country so lots of space. I will need to retrain him

OR..do as I do...put a dog kennel in a corner spot...or even a turkey wire enclosure....and teach your dog to potty in the kennel only. Teach him by walking out with him and telling him go to your kennel. I have trained ALL of my dogs to do this. All poop is contained...and urine doesn't ruing my yard. Now? I just say KENNEL...and they run out to it..poop..pee...then play or whatever.
Create a dog run in an area like the side yard or back of property. Simply leash your pet and walk them out to the area, until they get that's where you want them to go..... keep a lined bucket and pooper scooper so the area stays clean.
this sounds great. I just had my husband put up a large kennel so i could do just that. My dog will be a year old next month I think I can retrain him. Thanks
