Are deck blocks a good alternative rather than putting in piles

I'm not sure what you are asking. A good alternative to support decks than putting in piles? Using deck blocks instead of footings?I would love to help, I truly would. If I understand you correctly, you are asking if stacking cement blocks to support a deck is a good alternative to "pilings" (I think you mean cement footings). I suggest you check with your town ordinances about what rules they have about such weight bearing structures. I would hate for you to do a bunch of work and then have to redo or get fined.Helpful Reply -

Depends on where you live. If you're up north where the winters are harsh and the temp stays freezing constantly you need to consider use poured concrete. Water can build up in and around blocks and freeze. Causing them to shift.Helpful Reply -

Yes, if county code permits this. Make sure you have a cement pad under the blocks so the earth doesn't shift.Helpful Reply -
