Help with my porch, need to do the foundation. want new ideas

I have a 20x20 porch that the concrete blocks are shifting and I need to do it over. I was thinking putting logs, but in a northern Ontario area not sure if that is a good idea. I know that I need to move the dirt as that is what is making the blocks move. I am not sure if I should put blocks and then the logs as decoration? I want it to look nice.. but not too expensive either. This pic was taken last fall when I bought the house.

Once your house is correctly leveled, the concrete cinder blocks will quit moving and shifting. You never want to have wood directly on dirt. It decays and becomes a vacation spot for all insects especially termites

I am wondering if you had an inspection before you purchased the house and if so, how did the inspector diagnose the problem, and what were their recommendations as far as what needs to be done to prevent further disintegration of this area?

You HAD concrete blocks as a foundation for the porch... and they moved... NOW you need to have it done right.... in areas where you have frost heave... you probably need to put in some of the new "screw" type foundation supports.... they go down below the frost line... so one done... done for good. If you have HomeAdvisor.com or Angieslist.com in Ontario... check with them to find a verified contractor... and have the porch foundation done correctly.. and done for good.
