You can go with more gravel. Have it graded and packed down. Asphalt would be cheaper than concrete. But the gravel may need to be dug up for a new base.

If it's plain concrete in good condition, maybe you could paint it a fun pattern.
You can have it re-surfaced but if you are talking about appearances, add a decorative edging/border and pathway lights.
If asphalt, you can retar it.
