I have a rusting chain link fence around my 50' x 200' lot and need to paint it before I sell my house. I need to find out what to use and how to efficiently paint it. Any and all suggestions will be appreciated! Thank you.

    Hi there

Here is some info that I found on this subject.

First, remove any flaking paint, rust, or caked-on grime with a wire brush. (Or rent a sandblaster for the day.) Spot-treat any remaining corrosion with a spray-on rust inhibitor. Then use a long-nap roller to apply the aluminum paint to both sides of the fence.

    Hope this helps

Sprayi painting it would be the only way I think you could. I would get a large piece of cardboard to put on the other side so you don’t loose to much paint in the wind and if it’s a large area for cost efficiency buy a gallon of paint and use a paint sprayer. Choose the same colour on exsisting fence so it won’t be noticeable if you miss some spots Good luck !

Rob Hi,. I'd spray it with a good outdord paint. You'll have to sand it first. Find something like cardboard to cover the back, so when you spray it don't get on your neighbors property. You can rent a sander from Home Depot, for a reasonable fee, and you'll need to leave a deposit. How your going to paint the back of the fence.? Ask your neighbor if you can go on his property.

I used canned spray paint but I didn't have as large an area. I would recommend a spray gun and air compressor. My preference is RustOleum paint.
