Does contact paper work on countertops if it is covered with poly?

Contac paper does work on countertops. You can cover it with poly.

contact paper is awful....looks cheap...IS cheap. How about a remnant piece of linoleum? IO had leftover from my new floors...and did just that...had them cut a piece for my counter and desktop. Looks great !!
I wouldn't use contact paper. I would paint it. You can use more than one color just sponge it on. When all done and dry you will have to put more than one coat of Poly on it to prtect it. I beleive there are kits for this project. Good luck and have fun.
