How do I remove/repair veneer that has buckled from water damagee

I have a small barrister bookcase that has buckled veneer damage from a plant that sat on it. How can I fix this?

At the top left of this page is the project search bar. Type in Repairing Veneer. Several educated suggestions are there.
Thankfully it’s on a flat surface, so it’s easier than a curve.
