I cut down a old oak dining table & I am going to put pennies or or flat glass pebbles on top. Need to know what to use around the top edge of table for trim? Making a coffee table out of it.

perhaps a quarter round molding? just guessing as I don't know what it looks like but the quarter round placed on the top edges would act like "sidewalls" for your pennies or pebbles. -

Depends on the shape of the table. but I would go to the mill work section of lowes and pick up some molding that you like and fits the style of the table. -

You can install and stain some plywood to make an edging -
