I want to make my huge dining room table half it's size

I have a dining room table that seats 10 and takes up most of my dining room. The table splits in the center so I can add the leaf. I want to make this table half it's size by separating it completely and moving the legs over. Has anyone done this?

Depending on how the extension mechanism is affixed to the underside, you may be able to merely cut the table down to the desired size. Have you tried googling this? The exact procedure may depend on how your table is designed. But here's one link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p2LwgCDu244
