Painting over an existing surface, especially one with oil based paint, is always the same. Sand, sand, sand. Clean, clean, clean. Mask. PaintHelpful Reply -

No need to completely strip to bare wood. Sand all areas, to smooth out any rouge areas, prime, then paint. Just be sure to clean off any dust from from sanding.Helpful Reply -

Use Kilz to seal the oil base paint and paint over with laytex!Helpful Reply -
