Prime first
Yes, latex paint can always be painted over latex paint and going from flat to a satin or gloss is no problem at all. Sometimes if you’re going in the reverse you’ll need to “ruff up the gloss first. Only if you are painting over an oil based paint or vice versa are there other steps involved.
Definitely! Latex over latex is the best. No problem.
I would give it a light sand first, but yes.
Absolutely. Flat paint is the easiest paint to cover, and it acts as a Primer. Depending on the atmospher in the room, you may not need to do any sanding or prep work.
If there has been smoking in the room, you will definitely need to use Kilz (a primer that blocks stains from showing through the paint), and grease will bleed through also if not treated with a sealer like Kilz.
Happy painting.
I believe so ask the person at the hard ware...should be ok!
Hi, yes you can. They're both water-based so there shouldn't be any problem.
Yes, you can.
