I just tried for the first time. I did 2 coats because I noticed my brush strokes in the first coat, but that's me. Looks and works fine. -

Try it in a small area. If it doesn't apply well, which I've noticed some finishes don't, seal it first with a paint used for metal, such as a spray paint or primer. Doesn't matter what color you have, it's just to give it something to grab onto. You don't want to put it over rust because it will bleed through. -

Yes, you can. If it is a super slick metal you may want to lightly sand it to get the paint to stick. -
