i had a small section of wallpaper that I was too tired to remove So I didn’t and just painted over it when I painted the wall but looks okay now but I don’t recommend it.

Sometimes you can see the texture/pattern of the wallpaper through the painting, could be a good thing, if you want. And if the wallpaper peels for whatever reason the paint comes off too.

You can paint over wall paper, but it looks sloppy and cheap. Remove the paper. Start with a paint tray fill the one side with very warm water. Roll the paper, up and down, then scrape it from the bottom up with a large putty knife. Repeat. When your all done wash the walls with a sponge and warm water, to remove the paste. Next, you need flat paint, for your walls. It also depends on what room your painting. Is this the dining room, or the kids room ?

Try to get it down before you paint. You will be much happier if you take the time to do it.

You technically can paint over wallpaper, but unless it's the paintable wallpaper kind, it isn't recommended.
