l would replace them. I like colourful rag rugs in the bathroom, easy to clean and cheap.
Are they cotton?
a package of RIT may tell you otherwise about dying anything not cotton and white.
You could Tie Dye them and then no one would ever say they were boring
If they are rubber backed, they won't take the dye well and the rubber can then leave a stain on your floor. So, you have to brush the dye on. Here is a link about this:

Gotta love those beautiful beige bath sets while in their store packages. But once out and down, squishes, shows all the dirt, and need constant cleaning. I switched to bright colorful rag rugs. Soft to the feet, don't show the dirt, easy to clean, and inexpensive. Love the bright colors they bring to an otherwise not so fun room.
Yes!!! FUN FUN FUN! IF they have a lot of cotton in them they will do well. I've dyed a LOT of things. 1) Wash in COLD and SEPARATELY afterwards so it doesn't bleed onto other items. 2) Liquid dye is easier to deal with than powder dye. 3) FOLLOW the directions CAREFULLY... Like have washer tub filled to lowest water level useable for your specific item being dyed. 4) Use delicate agitation, leaving door open, so dyed water WON'T spin / drain out, but put through longest agitation cycle twice.
Rug may look too dark at first, especially while still wet and still in dyed water , but I found it will fade some.
Have your NEXT laundry load be an old rag load or an empty load with bleach and hot water to make sure dye left in tub doesn't bleed on next load.
If they have rubber backs I would not recommend that. The hot water would make a mess of the rubber backing. But I have dyed many rugs with Rit Dye and have had great results every time.
thanks everyone! I will try it
