I have a maple corner hutch and I painted it white and it looks amazing. What a transformation. It matches my kitchen cabinets and my dishes look great in the cabinet.
Please, please do not paint it white. I'm sick of all the chalk paint destroying beautiful wood. If the wood is not damaged just use white paint to highlight certain areas, like on the back of the open shelf area, add white handles to it, paint the outer rim of the piece white and leave the maple shelves and backing, or paint the drawer shelves white.
Thanks I think my family is going to be shocked when I tell them what I am doing to the Hutch since it was my mother’s.
Have you considered painting it an accent color instead of white?
