How do I paint a ceiling in a wallpapered kitchen?
Is there a special way to tape this project to protect the wallpaper? I’m keeping the wallpaper, but I would like to paint the kitchen ceiling white.

Not really, that I'm aware of. Just carefully place your tape and don't leave it for too long. You can also try one of those hand held paint shields, much like a large, long putty knife.
I know that certain tapes including frog tape brand make a special "delicate" tape for wallpaper. I'd look for that - I know frog tape's is yellow. Good luck!
Frog tape is great!
Morgan is right, frog tape delicate surfaces tape is great stuff
I've actually done this. I hate the task of taping off. And I was worried I'd tear the wallpaper with the tape. So, I got a good edger. And a two inch paint brush. Measured 6 inches from edges and I brushed it all in! It took time, but worked great. I brushed it all once, all the way around, let it dry, and did a second coat. Then the next day, I just used a roller from where my brushing ended. They also have the 2,4,6 inch sponge paint brushes that go on smoothly. I just chose the brush because I already had it handy. You can do it! Have fun!
