I'd like to know how to paint around spindles white carpeted stairs

I'm am planning to paint the spindles/bannisters on my stairs but they are carpeted and I don't know if just taping around them with painters tape would be enough to protect the carpet...thanks

Me neither! I would use at least a dollar store plastic tarp and tape it down well. Or run a roll of paper down the stairs - anything to protect the carpet from drips. Think about a painters mitt, quality does matter - don't cheap out. See if these sites help.

You can use painter's paper with a tape edge. It comes in a variety of widths and even comes in a film.

No, I wouldn't risk it. Plastic, tape and possibly a canvas drop cloth.

I agree with above comments. Use tape and some sort of drop cloth to protect the carpeting.
