
Old veneer dresser- what prep do I need to paint it?

Yes, I would use a quality chalk paint and wax. I buy mine at Lowes. Chalk paint is amazing and easy to work with.1). Light sand2). Paint3). Light sand4). Paint5). Apply was, let set for 30 minutes or more.6). Use a metal putty knife to take off the excess wax and it gives it an amazing vintage polish.The paint and wax goes a very long way, so don't waste by over use. Good luck!Helpful Reply -

Lightly rough up the surface with a fine grit sandpaper followed by wiping down with a liquid sander.Helpful Reply -

If you use a chalk paint, you can just clean and dry the area and apply the paint right on, followed by a good wax finish.Helpful Reply -
