While I have never turned the power off, I am sure Mogie has her reasons. I need light to see! Plus I open any and all windows and turn on a portable fan as soon as I am done.

Prep is they key, I wash everything from ceiling to floor with TSP, and make sure it is thoroughly dry before applying your prime coat. As to paint, buy the best you can afford within your budget. I am personally not a fan of all in one paint. Just my personal preference.

Take your time and you will end up with a professionally painted room at a fraction of the cost. Don't kid yourself, it's work. But something for you to be proud of once completed. 🖌

Use a good brush for cutting in and there's no need to tape off. I like a short handled angled brush. Also, protect your floor with a drop cloth. I like the canvas ones because they don't stick to your feet. Painting is much easier than you think. Go for for it!
