Painting kitchen cabinet insets.

Hi. Just moved into a 55+ community to a condo in which previous resident lived 17 years. So......lots of projects. I’m not on trend and that’s ok with me. Limited budget too.
I’d like to paint the insets of the kitchen cabinets a soft buttery color that blends with yellows in my kitchen table and ceramic canisters. What do you think?
Down the road I can change counter tops and appliances. Just not in budget now. Oh, and pulls? Style ideas? Thank you!
To paint or not to paint cabinet insets. Maybe space just above also?
Blend paint to go with my kitchen table.
Paint to blend with canisters too, but theae may not be around as long as the table. I’m clumsy.

Personally I would not paint the inserts on the cabinets, just add hardware.I would however paint the walls

Sounds like a great idea. Personally I do not like all white. Reminds me of an operating room! I did mine in a light green and left the stiles or whatever the main part is called white. I didn't add hardware.

I love the idea. Everything is some shade of white. Looks too sterile. Would give the kitchen a pop of color, blend with you decor, and give it some character. For pulls I suggest shopping around and find something you like. Everyone has different tastes. You can even go online and look whats available before hiitting the stores.

Hi MaryAnn, you know what would look nice; is if you painted the inserts (at least those over the stove) to match your table edge decoration. even if it was only the lattice. Or if you like, you could put painters tape criss cross on doors same size as edging on table, and paint the insides (where tape is absent) with the same soft yellow.

Love those canisters! If you tape off the area you don't want to paint and match the color, it shouldn't be too difficult with a small roller. It would be easy to change is you didn't like the after, as well.

Just an idea, but I think red dyed rope would make cute door and drawer pulls, to go with the canister trim. Buttery inserts with a touch of the vines or leaves would be dreamy. ☺️

If you like the idea of rope handles/pulls you can purchase pre-coloured rope at stores that sell climbing, and camping equipment. The nylon rope is strong, easy to clean, and the colour will not run.

To prevent fraying on the cut and knotted ends, use products such as Fray Check.
