Can you paint a copper backsplash?
Mine is old and dark. I need to know what type of paint is best to keep clean as it is also behind my stove.
How about using contact paper to change the color? That might be an easier solution.
If the mosaic is sealed so that it doesn't get damaged, then you can rough up the sealer with soft steel wool. Then use a chalk paint to cover all the mosaic. It will probably take two coats. This will also paint over the grouting, but that will look handcrafted. Now this to avoid tearing out the tile, but can look really good in your favorite color. Best wishes 😇
Painting your backsplash will reduce the value of your house, but if you are not worried about that, there are special paints formulated for painting on glass and other surfaces. You just need to check with your local paint store, or large box hardware stores. They usually carry a sealer, and any other paint that will cover glass.
I think that chalk paint can work well, but I agree that you should also bring this photo to Home Depot or something similar and ask them about glass paint options. Good luck!
Not an expert by any means, but there is glass paint available in craft stores.
rental properties owner, here.......have done this many times and has lasted very well. clean surface well...oil base primer first-then oil based paint. it is fumy, but have even done shower walls and floor...scrubbable and lasts!!!
BUY a stencil you like, whether it be a rose, flower, pattern or design. Take it to a printer & have it oversized to fit the dimensions of your tile wall on plain white paper. TAPE it to the wall cutting out the lines between the tiles & tape the individual pieces onto each square. START with the top left & go across to the end. Repeat for the 2nd row, 3rd & so on. Once you've reached the bottom right last one, the first one on the top left should be dry enough to start painting. FILL IN the colors using Stained Glass Paints starting in the same order as you outlined in black. When finished, step back & observe your finished creation. Note~These glass paints will stay firmly but will peel off if you ever change your mind & want to do a different one. Here's some examples of what I mean. GOOD LUCK! :)
How do I paint a glass backsplash already on?
I forgot to mention that the glass backsplash is in the kitchen. They just put it up but I don’t like the color because it is to busy for the countertops. I am going to paint it white.
