Deanna Nassar on Sep 04, 2016Latex dries quicker than oil base paint. Test for stickiness with your hands before attaching. 24 for oil and overnight for latex is a good allowance.Helpful Reply

Gay Finlayson on Sep 04, 2016I used latex paint, let them dry for 10 days, and they still stick. Live in New Mexico so it wasn't a humidity thing. So, the longer you can wait it out, the better.Helpful Reply

Anna M.S. on Sep 04, 2016Remember the phrase "when all else fails, read the instructions?" I was surprised to find a "curing" time on a Rustoleum spray paint can. You have a good chance of finding your answer on the paint can. That answer will be specific to the type and brand of paint you purchase. All other offered answers are only guesses. Is a professional or someone else painting them? If you can't read the instructions, ask the professional for the curing time recommended. I'd also ask if there are dings and chips, even after the required wait, will the painter repair their faulty work?Helpful Reply

B. Enne on Sep 04, 2016You can put them back when they have fully dried to the touch usually 24-48, but I ALWAYS leave them propped open a bit for at least a week to 10 days, so they cure well. Even latex and acrylic can stick if it isn't cured. Those little felt pads in the corners really help too, and they keep the slamming noise down.Helpful Reply

Fran on Sep 04, 2016I waited 5 days from the final acrylic coat, 24 hours between latex applications. It was very humid during that time in Massachusetts. They did not stick at all. Wait as long as possible!Helpful Reply

Fran on Sep 05, 2016They probably want to just finish the job and not have to come back. Best to keep the doors ajar if they are hung that soon. Good luck, hope they come out beautiful.Helpful Reply
