Wanting to paint over aluminum. Where should I start?

    You can use Rustoleum Primer, which she s designed for use on metal. You should then be able to paint as desired with a metal paint.

    Rust oleum makes a primer and paint all in one. It's excellent. I just did some old aluminum lawn chairs with it and it turned out great

    Etch it with vinegar and then rinse first, it will help the paint adhere better.

    What ever you are painting, clean it thoroughly before you start. If you are doing siding, use the primer and then can use regular house paint. I did this on our last home 15 years ago and the new owners haven't repainted yet. Good luck. :-)
