What color would go well with maroon carpet in a small bedroom?

2 of the walls are slanted with chair rails...should I use 2 different colors or stay with one solid color?

Maroon is a strong color so keeping the walls a soft tan or khaki will help warm the room and tone down all that color. The bedding and curtains could be done in natural linen tones with accents of maroon and charcoal to tie it all together. A throw on the bed in charcoal or navy would also pull the eye away from the carpet. As long as you keep the walls light I would use just one color on all the walls with a white or cream ceiling. You could paint the chair rail the ceiling color or just have it blend with the walls.
  • ..I agree with the colors for your wall....keep them light , but not stark white. ...and make maroon the ACCENT color, used in small doses to tie it all together.

cream, beige, azur... any pastel colours really! and make sure bed linen, curtains and soft furnishings go along with the same scheme; soft and gentle, maroon being a very strong, grounding, colour you really want something to lighten and brighten up. albeit not too bright or you may not be able to sleep at night!!

Maroon is a very bold color...you will need to keep it pretty neutral In the room to take away from the carpet. You could use a smaller area rug and put it in the middle of the room and then add your furniture....I would use something in the tan, neutral color scheme for this too. Paint all the walls the same color.....using two different colors will play up that the room is small and you don't want that. You can decorate with a couple of other colors...like shades of pink.

Grey. If you use two colors, I would do two shades of same color. Light gray and medium grey.

I think a metallic paint would take the focus off of the maroon and allow light to bounce off the sheen. Home Depot, Lowes, Dunn Edwards, all big box home stores and plain paint stores carry different metallic colors. A soft ash color would be great too. You may actually want to window shop bedding to see what's available in your price range and then go for the paint to go with it staying within the ranges mentioned. I amonth a firm believer the ceiling is my 5th wall and NEVER leave it white or cream; it gets what my walls get. If I am working light I use same color; if darker then I have enough for ceiling with only a 75% color mix so it is a slight shade lighter. It always raises the ceiling. Stark contrast colors like white, off white, cream stop the eye at the ceiling/wall line visually lowering the ceiling. That's never a good point. Good luck. Your room can be rich and stately with the right color combination.

I'd suggest staying very light....either cram, or light beige or grey tones. Very light colors for bedding and curtains with a few throw pillows with a bit of those colors in it. You didn't mention if your furniture is light or dark. Perhaps involve that in your decision of tans or greys. Good luck!

Gray or cream, keep as much as possible and let the maroon be the accent color.

Pale Pink, Pale Grey, Duckegg Blue, Pale Olive Green, Even Orange if you choose the right shade. Do add a bit of the colour you choose into the room decor too.
