When painting kitchen cabinets what type of paint to use?

    like places I've been reading that people are having really good results with chalk paint, which you can buy or make your own. I think places like Lowe's & Home Depot carry it now. Hope this helps!

    Use acrylic latex paint. Remove the doors and hardware. Mark the doors and cabinets with tape where they go. Lightly sand the doors and cabinets to remove any gloss and roughen the surface for paint. Prime with a stain blocking primer like Zinsser 123. Then paint with your color. Seal with at least three coats with a water based polyurethane. Use a small foam roller and foam brush for a smooth finish.

    When I painted my cabinets, I used a water based primer first (Kilz), then I used a Kitchen and Bath bath from Lowes. It is a latex, water based paint that is made especially for heavier use areas like kitchens and baths.
