How to save money with renovations?

Does anyone know of a good and reputable contractor that offers good discounts for disabled vets? Am hoping to get some things done in the near future, but,....on a disability budget, not a lot of money to easily spend!Just wondering if anyone has had a good experience with any companies? Thanks

you need to check with persons in your area; get references, check the Better Business Bureau; most large home improvement centers keep a list of 'bonded' , licenced contractors; Discounts would be on a One/One basis ... there is no requirement that they offer discounts for anyone for any reason ... talk to you local VA representative.. see if they know of anyone, or go to a VA center, Lions club, Civitan group, Religious Community Services, Senior Center, etc. Good luck and thank you for your Service.

your best bet is to contact your better business borough and the local vfw, also try the county extention office, some will give out grants to get the project done.

  • Hi Robert, I was recently researching this same information for the citizens in my area since my husband and I volunteer a good bit in our community. There are several federally funded organizations that can assist you with home repair or with very low interest (1%) home repair loans according to your income. These are a couple I had bookmarked but I can look for more in my saved folder if you need me to. I hope this helps!
