You should NEVER use glue or take to hold a canvas to a frame. The adhesive will start to eat holes in the canvas. Simply go to a hardware store and get a box of table top fasterners. They come 8 or 10 to a box, with screws, for around $3. Then simply add a wire hanger. I am a certified pucture framer and conservation/preservation specialist. So please get the tape off as soon as possible. Especially if this is a picture you would like to keep more than 10 years.
NEVER use glue or tape to hold a canvas to a frame. Sorry for the typo above.
So glad you got the help you needed!!
your welcome
I always use metal points that simply are pushed into the soft wood with a pair of pliers. This is what professional framers and artists use. Adhesive over time can bleed through, and generally make a mess as it deteriorates.
