H do i make a frame for an air conditioner exhaust hose for RV window?
I have a portable air conditioning unit and i need to make a frame for the exhaust hose. I'm using it in an RV. I'm thinking Styrofoam might be easier to use than cardboard (which is what i tried and failed miserably!). Any suggestions?! I'm frustrated and it's getting hot already!

I would use thin plywood.
Would PVC work? A cover could be glued to it.
Wouldn't it be simpler to increase the diameter of the hose and lengthen it?
Plywood would work the best. It won't break down, crumble, or collapse.
I would use some kind of plywood as it's stiff and won't fall apart on you.
Hi Cbarragn, iI would measure the opening you want to seal, then got to the home store and have them cut a piece of plywood, or plastic that will fit in the place, it will look cleaner and be weather proof. Or something like the attached video shows?

Without a pic I'm not sure what you're trying to do. But googling tells me, "Window kit: Some portable air conditioners are supplied with filler panels to close the gap in an open window and direct hot air outside. You can buy after-market kits, but many of the models we tested are supplied with a window kit. Just make sure it's long enough to fit your window."
So, google your portable a/c manufacturer plus window kit to see what's out there. I also see that various diameter couplings can hold the hose with a cut plywood panel set in the open window. Cut a hole for the coupling and voila!

We actually have an air conditioner like that. I know some only have one hose, but, ours has two. It came with an adjustable panel that the two hoses connect to so the intake and exhaust pass through. It is a rigid vinyl material. I'm sure you could replicate that to work with what you have. The panel fits snugly in the window and the openings for the hoses are also snug. A wood panel, possibly screwed into place, with foam insulation at the openings and around the panel would work well. Good luck and stay safe!
Awesome thanks for for answers👍
