Has anyone experience with a tri-fuel portable generator?
I have a dual fuel large portable one, but I'm hearing about the kind you can hook up to your house's gas line. Any and all info would be appreciated.

Generac is advertised a lot in this area but ratings are not all that good. Do a LOT of comparisons before you buy. There is still maintenance to some of them not just a hook up and forget about forever type of process. Don't just go on recommendations from people that don't know. Check online ratings and WHY they are rated the way they are. Some people write dumb things like "I don't like the color against my house" when the generator may be one of the best and the 'dumb' rating pulls the overall number down.
This is a very good site that walks you thru the differences, comparisions and a rating of the best machines.

Home Depot sells whole house generators. My neighbor purchased one from them and was very happy during the freeze. And yes Generac is well known, but they are extremely costly approx. 12 grand and have horrible ratings

If it's on the glass you should be able to clean it wit glass cleaner. If it's really stuck, carefully scrape it with a razor blade.
I used to work for a company that sold natural gas generators but they were not portable. I do know that many engines run on dual fuel (gasoline and propane) because we also sold forklifts. Both the generators and the forklifts were very reliable. However, if you go that route make sure that you do a test run periodically (we recommended at least quarterly) to keep your generator running at peak performance.

Duel fuel means gas or pro pain you will need a Electrician to install a hard wire plug out side if you want to be hooked up to gas I would assume you could ask the electrician or a plumber they deal with gas for stoves to .but you will need a hardwire .it will probably have a cut off so when power goes out you turn house off turn generator on and hook up gas .
