Every dehumidifier I have owned specifies a minimum operating temperature. If your garage is not below that temperature your dehumidifier has likely lost part of its refrigerant. It needs to be serviced or replaced.Helpful Reply -

This happens when you dehumidify cool air, which is usually what is in basements, garages, and crawl spaces. We had the same problem in a room that is on a slab, but above ground. Finally we bit the bullet an bought one that is designed not to freeze when used continuously. We have used it for over 2 years without any problems, it is a Danby Premiere. We had to order it because none of the local stores carry that brand. We stop using it as soon as the weater requires heat. You may avoid the freeze up if you add a little heat to the space.Helpful Reply -
