Ok, this will open a can of worms . . . Some say to tap into your current HVAC system. I disagree. Your house HVAC is engineered for "that space," tapping into it can create undue stress and heat loss in the main house - among other things. My vote is for a stand alone system. Here are some links.

The split units work well for single rooms. Are the walls insulated?
My SIL got hers on Amazon. They continue to add rooms onto to their home and buy splits to effectively heat these new spaces. They have oil+propane and splits.

I installed a Sterling GG hanging gas heater in my garage and have been very happy with it. I especially like the feature where it is sealed and uses outside air for heating because I do wood working and painting in there from time to time.
