As long as your microwave is designed with a range fan, Check out this link. https://www.hunker.com/13402823/what-is-the-proper-distance-to-separate-a-microwave-a-range-top#:~:text=The%20National%20Kitchen%20and%20Bath,Some%20manufacturers%20allow%20smaller%20clearances.
I found this on google: "Over the range microwaves require a minimum 66" mounting height from floor to top of the micro. The 66" from the floor dimension will allow approximately 13"-16" between the cooktop and the bottom front of the microwave." My over the stove (vented) microwave I place 15" above my stove top.
Not all microwaves are designed to go above a stove top. Microwaves that are designed to fit beneath or between cabinets or over a wall oven don't have vents built into the bottom. A vent is absolutely necessary if you're going to install your microwave over your stove top, so read the specifications on a new microwave carefully before purchasing it.
Yours is a standalone/freestanding microwave or a composite one which has come with the stove. It is so because standalone microwaves are generally not built with heat resistance base. They shouldn't fixed above the top because under all circumstances the heat emanating from the stove will damage the base of the microwave.
