How do I prevent the rubber pads on my TV stand from sticking?
Over time, the rubber pads from my flat screen TV stand have adhered to the media console it sits on. I believe I've gotten good advice about how to release the stand, but I'm leery of placing it (and the TV) on the new media shelves I just bought. Should I replace the pads with felt or something else? I'm afraid felt pads might cause it to slip if someone bumped into it, but I don't want to ruin the surface of my new shelving either. Can someone suggest a type of pad that would create friction but not break down and adhere to my shelves?

What if you wall mount just above the console. Gives you more flexibility and you can throw away the tv base.

I would purchase some drawer liner material and cut it the size of the bottom of your stand. Sit it under the stand to act as a barrier so it wont stick and it has enough rubber to it that will keep the tv from moving. https://amzn.to/2E7P3ZI
Good idea, Linda. I'm not sure that the rubber from the drawer liner won't stick over time, too, but at least I can choose a color that won't stain my light-colored console too badly, if that happens.
