You must sand the rust off, use rustoleum paint. When done, a clear coat will help.
Aw Linda, what an awful problem to have. The only idea that comes to my mind off the bat is to scrub off the bubbles and rust and use paint to cover the area. After that, I would purchase some stainless steel contact-like paper - I've seen it on Amazon where people use it to make their white fridges look like stainless steel. At least with the paper, it won't rust. The reason I suggest to paint the area before putting on the paper, is it will deter further rusting. Also, I'd look at the tray under the water dispenser to make sure it's not leaking and if it is, see if you can find a fix for that. Good luck! I really hope one of our ideas will work for you.
Hi, I am so sorry this is happening to you. My husband sells appliances and he says Samsung is absolutely the worst product out on the market today. They don't have any customer service, thier ice makers usually break within the first year and the Finish sucks. I really hope you find a solution. I would be very upset too with the amount of money those things cost.
The bubbles are where the paint is lifting, probably from rust underneath that hasn't broken through. As Lisa suggested, check to see if the dispenser is leaking and causing the problem. Rustoleum paint or appliance paint will work the best.
