In my bedroom the canopy piece of the ceiling fan is not attached and there are no screws to attach it to. How do I fix this?

Maybe you can attach it with double sided tape. If it comes undone after it is up for a while you can redo it or if it is on a 2x4, you could drill holes into the 2x4 and put screws thru the holes that are in the canopy piece.
That bracket holding up the fan should have a screw on each side. The canopy has holes on the side that screws it to the bracket. Otherwise it may not be the proper bracket for the fan or it was installed without the bracket. Notice in the video. You can purchase fan brackets if you need one.
