How do I fill a hole in my wall that is meant for a tv?
I have a hole in my wall over a fireplace in my living room. It is larger than my largest frame print. I don't want a tv in it. What do I do????

Hi Nancy! Not to worry! Hometalk has the perfect solution for you. Check out this step-by-step instruction on exactly what to do:

How to Patch Large Drywall Holes
If you just want to cover the hole hang a quilt. If you want to fix it you can find patch kits at a home store. They are easy to use. Then you only have to match the paint.
Patch with drywall
If you like the farmhouse look, you could cover the entire space over the mantle with shiplap, paint it according to youbcolour scheme and use it as a great backdrop for mantle and wall art
I'm assuming it's a pretty big space you are trying to cover up. Here's some ideas: Find a fabric that you really like, make a frame out of wood, staple fabric around it, place into hole (or cover fiberboard/foam board etc)
Take an old window that is same size or larger, cover with glass beads in a pretty design, place LED lights behind it for a glowing wall art piece. There are guides on Hometalk about how to "stain" glass, too.
Shiplap or tile the space, add a shelf put in candles, flowers, artwork. Get a piece of mirror, place inside hole, Frame the outside in wood/rock/tile, then paint/stencil a border on the wall.
It's not a hole, it's an opportunity. Have fun!
Okay, sounds like you already know what you want to do.
You could change it out for seasonal decoration. Sounds like you will have some fun with it.
Hello Nancy-- I apologize. I misunderstood your needs. Perhaps this is more in line with what you are looking for:

Buy nice molding in a style you like and make a frame big enough to go around it. Fill it with shelves, mirror tiles, small framed art, etc.
You could also cut some shelves to fit inside, then rotate what's displayed.
I would put some glass shelves in there and you could cover them with shutters.
Awesome! Glad this might do the trick for you! 😁
Obviously not if you don't want to drywall the hole.
