Spray the part that holds the bulb with WD-40. Try to get the edge where bulb and holder meet covered. Let it set for a while then wrap the bulb with cloth and wear heavy gloves (to protect you if the bulb breaks) and try to unscrew it. If it is still stubborn, spray again.

This has happened many times. This always works. I use two sets of needle nose pliers. Make sure your electricity is off before you start! I dig in at the edge where the broken bulb base is, bending it inward. Do this again 180 degrees, or, straight across and bend the bulb base inwards there also. With both pliers, one pair in each hand, twist counter clock wise and unscrew it. It will destroy the base, but this is just the broken bulb. Be careful not to damage your light fixture. I never have.

If the bulb is broken, turn off the power to that outlet then press the cut side of a potato into the broken glass/metal. Use the potato to unscrew the bulb!

    1. Turn off electric to light at the box.

    2. Carefully remove the glass part of the bulb by twisting it right (righty -tighty, lefty-loosly).

3.Grab a potato stick it in with the bottom metal in fixture, sharp edge will dig in turn it right, the when you're half way down potato and can't turn anymore turn it to the left and should wind right out.

    4. New bulb. Enjoy!!

If the bulb is broken off, carefully remove the center filament piece. Then, take a regular base bulb and press it into the broken one and unscrew it.
